Though my blog has been rather quiet lately, work on The War Horn is going on at a steady pace. The formatting is ready and almost all the endorsements are in - after I polish the text a bit and get two more critiques, it'll be ready to be uploaded!
In the meantime, my patient blog readers, feast your eyes on this: The War Horn's official cover art!
"Tobias" is my middle name and the name of my great-grandfather; thus, being much more awesome than "Jake", I used it as my pen name.
Let me know what you think.
And in the meantime, how's writing going for all the rest of you?
Signing out.
Hey, Jake! Awesome cover!!! My book, Paradox is coming along fantastic! I am finishing it today, then I will edit it and then I will give it to some prereaders to critique it! :) And then, I will begin the self-publishing process! :D

Great job, Jake! The cover looks excellent. Simple, yet gives attention to detail. Definitely grabs for your attention.
ReplyDeleteYou planning on releasing it for B&N Nook?
Awesome cover, Jake! It's absolutely amazing! Did you design it yourself?
ReplyDeleteMy writing is going well. I finished a novel and I'm now working on worldbuilding and short stories for a bit.
Awesome cover! Your book is definitely on my "most anticipated books of 2012" list. :D
ReplyDeleteAWESOME!!! Can't wait to read this thing!
ReplyDeleteAs for my writing....well, so-so. I've written, but not much. :-)

ReplyDeleteGreat cover!! :) Jake is a perfectly normal writer-ish name. :P No need to be ashamed!!
ReplyDeleteWhat's your views on pseudonyms?
Oops, I exited before I posted my comment yesterday.
ReplyDeleteI love the cover Jake!
My writing, well, school...go figure :P

ReplyDeleteTo all: thank you!
ReplyDeleteTo GuyWithBook: Long time, no see! As of right now, it's only going to be available via Amazon. Releasing it on other formats, such as NOOK and Smashwords, requires a lot more formatting, most of which is beyond my skill or will just take a long time. Kindle's formatting - and the fact that for most people, it's a prime stop for eBooks - in comparison, is relatively simple to do. Simple enough for a not-so-tech-saavy writer like me, that is. However, if The War Horn's Kindle edition does well, I may look into it.
Leilani: I worked with a fellow writer, Nichole White, to create this cover. She did pretty much all the work, actually. I just tried to look important and ordered her around. ;) You can check out her blog here: http://theravenquill.blogspot.com/
Lark: well, this isn't quite a pseudonym, since it's my real name. I just chose a different form of it. Besides, my middle name is awesome ^_^
However, pseudonyms are good if you don't want anyone to know who you are (such as "Lemony Snicket").
I can't wait to see your book in the Amazon store, Jake!!! :D So excited for this, it's not even funny. Congrats and good luck!!! ^_^

The cover looks awesome Jake (and Nichole!) I can't wait to read it. Super excited for you.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! (lol, I've already seen it, though.... hehehe) Can't wait to read 'The War Horn' in it's final, published form!!!
ReplyDeleteWriting... ick. It's at a standstill, except for my OYAN novel, which is coming along very well. I'm ALMOST done outlining, then comes the part I have a love/hate relationship with... the actual writing. : )

Wow, Jake!! This looks awesome! There is a spot reserved for it on my kindle. Well done, Tobias! ;)
ReplyDeleteAs for my writing, it's going fairly well. I just finished a short story for a competition, but I have to wait for a month before I can see how I did. :P
My novel is sort of at a stand still right now. It's kinda hard to find the time to work on it. I can't wait for summer.
Yeah, formatting is a pain. But luckily I can read it on my iPad :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, if you do get around to Nook formatting, I *think* Calibre can convert it a bit more easily (I've never tried, so I'm not positive). http://calibre-ebook.com/
AWESOME cover-art! It looks great!
ReplyDelete~Elizabeth
Well, I haven't been on here for a while...but anyway this cover looks really great...
ReplyDeleteI would certainly buy the book...but I don't have a kindle :(
As for me and my writing, well, I have finished one novel. (it is not publishing worthy though) So now I have started my next entitled "Savage" this one gives more of a Peretti feel as where my other was more of a historical fantasy if that makes any sense. :)
Have a great day,
-Isaac Permann
@Isaac Permann-- you can still get the Kindle download for your computer. I don't have a Kindle either so I'm going to download the free app. http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=sa_menu_karl3?ie=UTF8&docId=1000493771
ReplyDeleteJake, what is your intended release date?
@Lark - Thank you!! I will certainly do that!
ReplyDeleteHey Jake, I tegged you in my latest blog post!
