Hey folks! I'm back again. It's a little strange for me to blog twice in one day, but I figured I'd get a post in while I can.
Here's what I've been reading/am reading/have to read.
The Book of Names: great book! I'd recommend a read. Fantasy lovers should greatly enjoy it.
Corus the Champion: just finished it today. It's even better than the sequel. :D Great story. Read it, folks!
Can't wait to read this one: the sequel to the previous two, it comes out later this month.
This oddly reminds me of the old Doctor Who credits. xD Despite the slightly old-school look, it's shaping to be a good book (though I haven't read it yet). It's sitting on my Kindle and waiting for me. The last of a trilogy—I'm really excited to read it.
I haven't read anything by this author before, but it's an MLP (Marcher Lord Press, a speculative fiction publisher) book and, from what I read of the Kindle sample, is a going to be a great book.
Recently republished by Marcher Lord Press, Kathy Tyers' Firebird Trilogy is supposed to be one of the great sci-fi classics of Christian fiction. Besides, it's 1100 pages—I wish all books were that size!
Have any of you read any of these books? If so, what did you think?
Have YOU read anything awesome lately?
Over and out,

You're finally reading Firebird??!!
*throws the most EPIC party EVER*
Oh. My. Gosh. You are going to LOVE it!!!! It's by far the most amazing science fiction series of all time. And the forth book in the series was released at the beginning of this month (which I still need to get my hands on). You absolutely MUST tell me what you think of it, even if you just email me your thoughts on it.
Grr. I asked for the annotated version for my birthday and never got it. Not cool at all.
Yes. Firebird is my favorite series of book ever. I'm sure no one can tell. At all.
Hum. I read Dandelion Fire and am starting The Chestnut King. Very good. Incredible. Especially for baseball lovers like me. :-) I have been reading the Harry Potter series and while those aren't awesome/incredible, they are ok. :-)
@HannaJoy I LOVE the 100 Cupboards Series! The Chestnut King is one of the best conclusions to a series I have ever seen (behind Return of the King and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows). And have you read The Dragon's Tooth?
Jake, great post. I'll have to check out Firebird. And those Legends of Karak Tor books look good. What would your age recommendation be for those?
Christopher - Firebird is definitely older "young adult." I would say at least 14 or older. Never read the other books, so I can't say.
I LOVE the cover of that third book! *swoons*
Anyway, I've been reading the Castaways of the Flying Dutchman. Love those books! As well as Gregor the Overlander series. *love!*
And, er, The Cat of Bubastes.... less awesome..... :|
@TheDirector You don't like G.A. Henty's books as much as modern fiction? I really like G.A. Henty. I've read his book "Beric the Briton" so many times. To each his own, I guess.
@Christopher: I haven't yet read the Dragon's Tooth (though I really really want to) because I want to finish the 100 Cupboards series first. Me and my sis got boxing monkey patches!!! :-D Did you?
I've read the Book of Names and liked it. I haven't read the sequels yet but I want to!
@Hannah Joy - Well whaddaya know! I too am currently reading the Harry Potter series, and 100 Cupboards (though I'm a little behind you, I just got started)! O_O
@The Director - Interesting... I think my younger brother is reading Cat of Bubastes for school right now too.
Small world people, small world...
Wish I could read faster. These look like some great books. =)
@Ninja Tim: Coolio! Small world indeed. The 100 Cupboards series is completely awesome. :-) Are you reading Harry Potter for the first time? I am. I am on the Goblet of Fire. I'm reading them mainly because of a Harry Potter geek friend who told me I *had* to read them. And one of my favorite authors, Andrew Peterson, likes Harry Potter too. So...well, it was about time for me to read them. ;-)
@HannahJoy I did get a monkey patch. And where are you in Goblet of Fire? If Harry hasn't started Task 3 yet, its about to get REALLY good.
@Chris He hasn't even started the second task. They just finished the dance. :-) Good! I like when books get really good. Duh. :-)
The monkey patches rule!!!
